Meet Michelle

Michelle Axtman is a wife, mother, aspiring cattle rancher, proud veteran, and public servant representing District 7 in the North Dakota Senate.

In 2022, Michelle was elected to the North Dakota Senate and has been committed to strengthening education and workforce development, supporting responsible budgeting and tax relief, and advancing initiatives that grow North Dakota’s economy while supporting families and communities.

In her first two sessions, she has championed numerous bills and landmark legislation, including:

  • Authoring and serving as the prime sponsor of the historic legislation creating a state-wide bell-to-bell phone-free schools policy;
